The Great Ocean Road

Discover the incredible countryside, twisting roads and beautiful coastline on this round trip from Melbourne. It's world renown as one of the ultimate coast roads and if you add in the natural beauty of the lookouts and waterfalls of the Grampians National Park and the old fashioned towns and charms of the Goldfields you have an unforgettable short tour...

Adventure on the Great Ocean RoadThe Great Ocean Road - Famous as one of the most scenic coastal drives in the world, words can't describe the wonderful scenery on this 280km stretch of road close to Melbourne. The road twists and winds as soon as you set your wheels on it! There are plenty of small coastal towns to stop for lunch and a coffee and with fantastic ocean lookouts on one side and the greenery of the lovely Otway Ranges on the other the views and riding don't get any better.

It takes longer than you might expect to ride along this road as there's so much to see. Take a walk in the temperate rainforest at Maits Rest and visit the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, the Grotto, London Bridge, The Arch - the list oges on! Keep an eye out for koalas in the roadside trees but don't forget to watch the road as well as the spectacular views! Every motorcyclist should ride this road at least once in their life.

Note that if you decide on the 4 day, 3 night trip we can organise two nights on the Great Ocean Road or give you a full day in the Grampians National Park. This is another area that needs at least half a day to explore....

One of the waterfalls in the Grampians National ParkGrampians National Park - after riding along the Great Ocean Road you'll turn north to the lovely Grampians National Park. This area of granite highlands is jam packed with wildlife, superb lookouts and beautiful waterfalls.
The Visitor Centre at Halls Gap is incredibly interesting and will give you an overview of the area. By the time you've ridden and taken a a short walk to the two main lookouts and perhaps walked to the base of one of the waterfalls you'll need at least a half day there. If you are on the 3 day trip this can be the morning before you ride back to Melbourne but ideally the four day trip gives you the day to take in the sights and see the area properly.

Goldfields - On the way back to Melbourne take in the quaint, old fashioned towns of Castlemaine and Daylseford with their lovely bakeries and cafes. The beautiful countryside sweeps by and makes for a leisurely ride back to the city.

Unmistakably the 12 Apostles!
