Tropical north Queensland is simply stunning. The amazingly
lush mountain scenery in the oldest rainforests on earth are only
separated from the crystal clear, turquoise waters of the Great
Barrier Reef by coconut palms and perfect white sandy beaches.
It's paradise by anyone's standards.
...and fortunately for us motorcyclists there's a twisting ribbon
of tarmac passing all this scenery and joining the best places
to visit!
Ride north to Port Douglas, Mosman Gorge, Cape Tribulation and
the Daintree Rainforest. Ride south to Airlie Beach and the jaw-droppingly
beautiful Whitsunday Islands or head inland to the breathtaking
hills and rainforests of the Atherton Tablelands
Ride a little further west and you'll discover the unique character
of the outback. Further north is the frontier of Cooktown (now
connected to the rest of the world by winding tarmac) and the
off road territory of Cape York. South is the long but exciting
trip to Brisbane, Sydney and beyond.
