A motorcycle adventure from Cairns to Cape York with the return
leg from Cape York to Cairns via scenic air flight. Visit historical
sites and a get chance to ride the best the Cape York has to offer,
this motorcycle adventure is for the rider who wants to really experience
Australia and the outback.
The itinerary:
Day
1 - Cairns to Cooktown
We depart in Cairns and riding up towards Daintree. Just outside
Daintree starts the CREB Track and passes through private land,
timber reserve and Aboriginal land. It's a route through the rich
rainforest that climbs to the top of the range and crosses many
beautiful creeks and rivers.
Day 2 - Cooktown to Lakefield National
Park
The track from Cooktown leads us along the Cape Flattery sand
dunes into the Lakefield National Park. The landscape varies from
dry bush land to thick rainforest with wide rivers and diversified
marshland.
Day 3 - Lakefield National Park
to Archer River
Leaving the second largest National Park we visit the old Musgrave
Telegraph Station and riding on the Developmental Rd up north.
Coen was once an old gold digger settlement and in the meantime
became almost a ghost town. We camp at the idyllic shore of the
Archer River with a beautiful swimming spot.
Day
4 - Archer River to Wenlock River
Via a detour we ride along the Frenchman's Track through the Pascoe
river crossing and head north to Moreton Telegraph station where
we stay overnight at the Wenlock River.
Day 5 - Wenlock River to Twin Falls
On the way up the Telegraph Track we visit the Bramwell Station
where you'll get the chance to do some fishing. The Twin Falls
are located in the middle of gum trees and rainforest. It's a
paradise with waterfalls, rock pools and seldom seen carnivorous
plants.
Day 6 - Twin Falls to Saisia
We ride up to Saisia and stand on the top of Australia. Use the
rest of the day to visit the interesting sights in this area,
like the old relict WWII DC-3 which crashed on route from New
Guinea to Australia, go on a fishing tour, take a boat trip to
Horn Island or simply relax on the beach - the choice is yours!
Day
7 - Rest day
Ride up to the most northern point of the Australian continent
- Cape York. Take a walk along the white sandy beaches and enjoy
the feeling of standing on a remarkable and famous historical
place.
Day 8 - Flight back to Cairns
Take your last picture at the end of the journey with the good
friends you've made on the way and catch your flight back to Cairns. |
